Abstract

This paper analyses the status and potential level of renewable energy sources in India. Shifting towards conventional to the renewable energy source is the challenge for the world. India has lots of potentials but utilization level is very low. The study founded that solar energy is the top position in potential (65 per cent) followed by wind power (30 per cent) in India in case of renewable energy potential. But India used it's about 3.98 per cent of solar energy potential till yet. States named Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh has lots of potential but unable to use it.
